Brendan Bellomo is a multi award winning writer/producer/director and visual effects supervisor for film, commercials and TV. 

He is an NYU alumnus, whose work was screened at the San Francisco International Film Festival, DGA and Lincoln Center while attending his undergraduate studies. During his time at NYU, Mr. Bellomo also went on to direct “Bohemibot,” a live action sci-fi short. An ambitious undertaking, the film took over two years to complete with an all volunteer cast and crew of over 200 students and professionals from 11 countries. “Bohemibot” went on to screen at over 30 film festivals and garnered numerous awards including Best Short, Best Visual Effects, Best Sound Design and Best Cinematography. In 2009 Mr. Bellomo received the Student Academy Award for Directing. 

Upon graduation, Brendan was asked by NYU to develop and teach the first Visual Effects course at Tisch School of the Arts. During the three years that Brendan taught the course as an adjunct professor, he continued to Direct and Visual Effects Supervise commercials and music videos in New York.  

As a VFX supervisor, Brendan has overseen over 3,000 shots. He supervised the 2012 Sundance Grand Jury Prize winner and Best Picture Oscar nominee Beasts of the Southern Wild (Fox Searchlight). Various VFX  shops from NYC and LA frequently bring Mr. Bellomo on as VFX Supervisor for special live-action shoots and CGI projects (including NBC’s The Blacklist, HBO’s The Wire, and River Road Entertainment’s Love and Mercy). 

 

Recently, Mr. Bellomo has partnered with hardware engineers hailing from SpaceX, Apple, The Mill and Panasonic to design and build new robotic-camera-control systems. 

Brendan is also currently developing a live-action feature with 1492 Pictures producing. He recently directed the ”Forged and Fire“ spots for History Channel, as well as Directed the Phantom Unit on the Sprint “Cut Your Bill in Half” national campaign for Deutsch LA.
This year he also personally worked with Annie Leibovitz on her 8K-video exhibit Women: New Portraits. 

His clients include: Lady Gaga, National Geographic, Discovery Channel, HBO, NBC, 1492 Pictures, River Road Entertainment, Samsung, Pepsi, Hershey’s, Sprint, Vanity Fair, Sony, David Bowie, A$AP Ferg, HP, Budweiser, Robert Wilson and Fox Searchlight. 

He currently resides in Los Angeles and works internationally.
